Hi! My name is Whitney Quash and I am the Principal Designer and Owner of House of Joi, an interior design firm and home goods retail boutique. Ever since childhood I have been obsessed and in love with fashion, colors, shopping and creating a unique personal space for myself. I have fond childhood memories of picking out pillows, comforters and rugs for my room growing up and begging to change the paint colors on my bedroom walls. My freshman year of college (the eBay days) I did my entire dorm in Hello Kitty, down to the cordless phone and XL twin bedding that had to be shipped to me from Japan. As a college grad, navigating my newfound adulthood in the extremely expensive DC Metro area, I was only able to afford one bedroom apartments. But they were always decked to the nines. My mom would come and visit and we would go crazy picking out cute lamps, curtains and other knick knacks to make my 900 square foot apartments look magazine worthy.

 

As you can see, I have always been passionate about creating unique home spaces no matter the size of the space or budget. I am a firm believer that your home is your haven and should be a direct reflection of who you are as a person. My favorite design quote is: “Your home should tell the story of who you are and be a collection of what you love.”
